Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is a six-year professional doctoral program that prepares students to become medication experts and provide patient care. The program includes five years of academic study and one year of internship or residency:
Academic study
Students learn about subjects such as hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapeutics, biostatistics, clinical toxicology, clinical research, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmacoeconomics.
Internship
Students gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting, where they are exposed to actual pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy services.
